Titles
Titles boost tenants' income. Tenants do not acquire titles automatically: rather, a tenant will come to you seeking advice. Life advice costs 10 RP (maximum base chance of 80%); extra advice can be given for a 5, 8, 15 or 25% (random) extra chance of crossing the hurdles. Giving extra advice always costs 15 RP regardless of extra chance, "Not really" is free but keeps the base chance. Depending on when the advice was given, tenants will directly head for it (if before 10:00 AM) or wait until the following day; they then come back once they are done.
Some things to keep in mind:
- There will be 1, 2 or 3 treasure chests with RP inside (random) and 2 or 3 hurdles to cross. If a tenant fails a task, they can try again for 2 tickets. If the odds are high or only a single hurdle is left, this is recommended, especially for job tasks.
- Life advice is asked at 4:00 AM (love advice is asked at 8:00 AM instead) if conditions are met and tenants pass a weighed random roll.
- Unlike love advice requests, life advice requests have a deadline: all of them will disappear by the end of the calendar year (winter).
- Tasks are taken at 10:00 AM or whenever the tenant gets out of bed and immediately heads for it (whichever happens first).
- If too many requests for advice are on hold, the game will drop some after you complete one. They may reappear on another week.
- Each calendar year, only one tenant can get a particular title; you cannot have 5 Heads of the Class in one year.
- Getting the same title on different tenants counts towards total titles obtained.
- There is no limit to how many titles a tenant can obtain but they will only ask for advice if they pass the random roll.
- You obtain a Gold Scratch Card each time a tenant successfully acquires a job-related title (up to 66 free GSCs per tenant).
- Only one tenant requires 10 titles to unlock the tenant-specific trophy. Start with high income boosts (use the below table).
- No matter how much extra income you get, wealth is capped at $99.9K per tenant and only one tenant pays the rent (the richest at 10:00 PM on weekends), so once even Homemaker provides this much, unless you really want more titles, this is not recommended.
